Is it possible to add private videos?

Short answer: Yes! We support various settings, even password-protected and videos with restricted access settings.

However, when you embed a private video, the preview image is not visible. You see an empty blue box on your screen. Why does this happen? For restricted videos, video platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, or Wistia) do not provide those images.

Note! ⚠️ Embedding videos is possible with FlippingBook Online Optimal or higher.

Can I add a preview image on a private video?

Yes, although it will require a little extra work to do. To add a preview image, you can do it like this:

  1. Find the image that you used for the video. (If you can't find it, you could open your video in a new tab in your browser. Take a screenshot of the starting screen and save it).
  2. Embed the saved screenshot as an inline image into your flipbook.
  3. Move and resize the image to match your video area. Unlock proportions if needed.
  4. Use the send to back option in the bottom menu bar.

Now your private video looks just like a regular video, including the preview image!
