What to do if your payment failed?
If you pay for your FlippingBook Online account by credit card, our attempt to charge the card may fail. When the payment fails, your FlippingBooks don’t immediately go offline. We put your subscription On Hold for a 14-day grace period. Over the next 14 days, we will attempt to charge your card multiple times. We will also reach out to inform you that the charge has failed. There are two scenarios:
Your subscription is on hold due to a billing issue
If you notice that your subscription is On Hold due to a billing issue, then our charge attempt was declined by your bank. Common reasons are insufficient funds or that the card has expired/has been reported as lost. For your privacy, we do not receive detailed information about the decline. If the reason for the decline is unclear, we advise you to contact your card issuer. After you have found the reason, you can retry as follows.
- Go to the Subscription section of your Online account
- Click the Update your payment method link.

- Confirm or update your card details, enter your security code, and press Next.
- Allow up to 30 minutes for the attempt to be processed. You should receive a message from our payment processor, Cleverbridge.
- If you did not receive any message from Cleverbridge, contact our support team at support@flippingbook.com. We may have an outdated email address on file.
Your latest payment is awaiting authentication
For some credit card transactions, the bank requires you to authenticate the payment before we can complete the charge. This can even apply to subscription renewals and is decided by your bank's policy. The most common mechanisms are to confirm the payment on your smartphone, enter a code sent to you by SMS, or acknowledge a push notification.
To complete the authentication,
- Go to the Subscription section of your Online account.
- Click the Authenticate your payment link.

- Confirm or update your card details, enter your security code, and press Complete your Authentication.
- You are taken to a page provided by your bank/card issuer when you complete the authentication. The appearance or authentication mechanism may vary.
