Note! This option is available for FlippingBook Online Optimal, Advanced, and Team plans.
Have you ever sent one of your clients a link to a publication and then wondered if they opened it? Let’s say you create a proposal for a big client and want to send the link to your client's marketing manager, procurement manager, and general director. Wouldn’t it be great to know if and when each person opened it, so you could follow up with them? That’s exactly what our feature Individual Links is for! Not only can you see if and when a client opens a publication, but you can also learn how much time they spend on it. You can even see if your publication has NOT been opened in, let’s say, a week.
Or what if you have a catalog that you always share with potential clients? With Individual Links, your sales staff will be able to determine who to follow up with, and how. They’ll know for sure who hasn’t had a look at the catalog at all, who only gave it a brief glance, and who is genuinely interested. Individual links will give you just that information.
Individual links are not restricted to individual viewers. You can also make different links for different audiences. This way, you can easily gain insight into how successful your publications are with these audiences.
How does it work?
An individual link is basically just an alias for a FlippingBook. You create one publication, and then you can create as many links to it as you want. You can then track how each individual link is used. If you update the publication itself, all users who use individual links will also see the updated version.
You can create 25 individual links in Optimal plan, 100 - in Advanced, and 500 - in Team (for all team members combined).
Creating your first individual link
To create your first individual link, go to the publications page in your online account. We assume that you have at least one publication already (if not, learn how to create it here). Let’s take ‘Catalog 2019‘ and create an individual link for Marvin Acme, CEO of Acme Corp.
- Hover over the ‘Catalog2019’ and click on Share
- Click on Individual Link in the pop-up menu
- Give the link a suitable name, for example, 'Catalog 2019 for Marvin Acme'. Note: this is NOT a URL. The name is only for your internal reference, so you can later easily find it in your individual links list. The text is not visible anywhere outside of your account.
- Choose Create Link. The link will now appear in the pop-up window.
- Choose Copy Link and send it to Marvin Acme by email (or any other means)
As soon as Marvin opens the link, you will get a notification by email. This email will be sent to the email address that you use to log in to FlippingBook Online. If Marvin has not opened the link within a week, you will also receive an email.
A note on privacy
If you send an individual link to a single person, then you are gathering information about this person. Even though you are not immediately tracking thousands of users, gathering information still comes with some responsibilities. We advise you to familiarize yourself with applicable privacy regulations!
