Now, let’s take a closer look at how you can add videos, links, and images to your flipbook.

How to add Youtube, Vimeo, and Wistia videos to my flipbook?

To add a video to the book, you should first upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, or Wistia. At this moment, it is not possible to direct upload e.g. mp4 videos to FlippingBook.

Next, you need to copy the link to your video.

Now you are all set to add your video to the flipbook. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open your flipbook in the Editor mode.
  2. Select the page you want to add the video. You can use the paginator at the bottom to quickly jump to a specific page.
  3. Press the Video button in the menu pane on the left-hand side.
  4. This will open a popup dialog. Copy/paste your video link from YouTube, Vimeo, or Wistia here.
  5. You can now adjust your video size and position: Click on the video’s preview and drag it around the screen with your mouse. Resize it by clicking on one of the edges and then dragging it to the desired size.

You can modify several settings in the panel on the right-hand side. For all the details refer to our article videos in-depth. But the most important one is the Playback mode.

The Playback Mode determines how your video is opened in a flipbook. Two options are available: Inline and Popup.

  • Inline embeds the video directly into the flipbook page so that it looks like a part of your page. A great option if you have enough space available so that users can see the video without zooming.
  • Popup will add a thumbnail to the page. When the reader clicks on the video thumbnail, this opens a near full-sized pop-up window where your video is played. Your flipbook will fade to the background. When the reader closes the popup, they will return to the flipbook.

How do I add images using the Editor?

You can add two different kinds of images to your Flipbooks :

  • Inline images are non-clickable parts of the page. You simply add an image on top of your content or in an empty spot. You can use inline images to replace outdated pictures in your book without replacing the whole PDF.

While inline images are non-clickable by default, you can add a link on top of it (learn more about working with overlapping elements).

  • Pop-up image - adds a clickable version of the image that opens in the pop-up window every time you click on it. Pop-up images are great to show a high-quality picture of your item or display it from a different angle.

To add an image to your flipbook follow these steps:

    • If you want to use an image from the internet, then you can use Insert link to image, paste the URL to the image, and press Confirm. We will insert a copy of that image into your flipbook. This means that the image in your flipbook will stay unchanged even if the online version is changed or deleted.
