• Quick Start for FlippingBook Publisher


If you are ready to convert your PDF file into a ‘flipping book’, first you need to do is an import of a file to PDF Publisher. It can be done in two ways: click Import PDF on a toolbar or select Import->Import PDF in a main Menu. Also a hotkey (CTRL+I) is bound on a related command for a quick access.

You can also change file path by clicking Browse on ‘Import PDF’ window. If your file has links or a table of contents, toggle the check-boxes: Import links and Import Table Of Contents (a tree-view structure of the book that generates from bookmarks and will be shown from left side, in a side window). To start an import click Start on the same window.

After importing you can edit your publication options through the changing Design Settings.

Design Settings — is a tree-view menu that includes all publication’s option. You can easily get more information about all parameters here. As an example we can change the name of our publication.

Select Text Captions/Top Bar thread in Design Settings and modify Publication Label’s value into what you want.

After setting up the options in your publication you need to register the domain where the book will be sited. Follow instructions below to do it in easiest way:

Choose Settings -> License Manager in a main Menu. An opened window includes all information about your current account and registered domains. Type on a specified text field the domain and click Add button Add button

Type your account password on the next window and confirm your domain if it was not mistyped.

Now you can proceed the publishing of the book. To proceed click Publish->To HTML on a toolbar or select the same in a main Menu. You can specify all options you need in an opened window. Also the advanced options of publication might be edited by you, to proceed click Advanced Settings.

Specify the folder of destination. Click Publish project if you want your book to be published after tuning the properties.

Before launching a ready HTML publication in the browser right from your PC without uploading to you server some features might be blocked. This is caused by the Flash Player’s security policy for SWF files used locally. To solve this problem, you need to upload your book onto the website, or to add the book’s catalogue (folder) to the Trusted Locations list, with the help of this Adobe online editor: http://www. macromedia. com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04a. html

Now you can open your book in any browser or upload it to your FTP-server. Just move or copy files and folders from a destination folder to a directory of your server via any FTP client.

After uploading on your server you can be able easily open it on the sited address and enjoy your book. Your book’s web address will look like this after uploading it to ‘book-folder’ folder on your-site. com: www. your-site. com/book-folder/index. html? pageNumber=1 where specified page number is a first page. Remember that index. html is a main page of your publication.
