HTML publications do not load

This problem occurs because the Flash Player's security system blocks normal SWF-files loading and some other features( such as links on pages) when an HTML publication is viewed locally. This leads to a situation when such publications are not launched and stay with a vertiginous preuploader.

In order to solve this problem there is an aim folder for the publications in Publisher (the folder is indicated by the user in the publication window) which is added to the list of approved folders of Flash Player. The publication works in this folder. If you move the publication to another location it will stop working because the new folder is not in the list of "Trusted Locations".

This problem might be solved manually by clicking this URL: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04a.html (This is an official Flash Player add-on manager) and adding a new folder in the list pressing the "Edit Locations" button.

If a publication is uploaded on a website this problem will disappear.

If a publication is originally intended to be launched locally on computers we recommend to use a Professional version of Publisher that creates EXE and APP books for Windows and Mac OS respectively.

If there is a high necessity to use HTML publications locally for some reasons, a local web server (such as http://sourceforge.net/projects/xampp/ ) should be used. In any case we recommend to use EXE and APP publications.

If your book, after it has been created, failes to be launched from a publication window by clicking the "Preview Result" button, you should close the browser window( in case it is open) and press the "Preview Result" button again. This problem occurs because the system may block the "Trusted Locations" list changes for the working Flash Player. Therefore, the browser should be restarted so that Flash Player can use the new list.
